The short version. Vidsize is a free tool that makes your video files smaller on your own phone. Use it for content you have the right to use. It comes with no guarantee about exact output size, and you should keep your originals until you have checked the result.
By installing or using Vidsize ("the app") you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Vidsize re-encodes a video you select, on your device, using your device's own hardware, and writes the result to your gallery. It offers three compression levels — Balanced, Smaller and Smallest — and shows an estimated output size before you start.
The sizes shown before compression are predictions, not promises. The final size of a compressed video depends on the source file, its length, its content, and the video encoder built into your particular device. Vidsize does not offer, and does not claim to offer, compression to an exact target file size.
Vidsize does not impose a fixed maximum file size or resolution. It attempts 2K and 4K sources with the decoders the device actually makes available and may begin the output at 1080p or lower. Real limits still include free storage, codec and profile compatibility, encoder capability, thermal behaviour and battery. A device capability-table warning alone is not treated as proof that a video cannot be processed; Vidsize performs a real attempt. Damaged files or a source codec/profile for which the device exposes no usable decoder can still fail.
The app is free and supported by advertising served through Google AdMob. Interfering with ad delivery, or attempting to generate invalid ad activity, is not permitted. How ad-related data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.
Do not use Vidsize to process content that is unlawful, or in a way that infringes anyone else's rights. Do not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or redistribute a modified version of the app except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects statutory consumer rights you may have under the law of your country of residence.
These Terms may be updated as the app develops. The "last updated" date above will change when they do, and continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the developer is established, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of your own country of residence.
